Vote Adeline. Everyone belongs.
Adeline Langley is running to be Connecticut’s next Kid Governor on a platform of inclusivity in schools.
The platform
Inclusivity
in Schools
“I believe every child should feel welcome, valued, and like an important part of their school community.” Adeline, from her campaign video
The three-point plan
Three ways to make sure no one feels left out
Every Kid Governor candidate builds a plan that 5th graders across Connecticut can act on. Here is Adeline’s.
-
Point 1
A Buddy Bench at every school
Put a Buddy Bench at every K–5 school in Connecticut. When a kid sits there, it tells everyone else they’d like someone to play with.
“Sometimes it can be as simple as saying, do you want to play?”
-
Point 2
Post-it Pals
Students write their favorite things on a sticky note (horses, soccer, drawing, reading, music, science) and pin it to a bulletin board to find kids who like the same things. Plus a monthly Post-it Pals lunch or assembly.
“Who knows, you might make a lifelong friend.”
-
Point 3
An end-of-year celebration
Close out the school year with a Post-it Pals celebration of all the friendships and connections made when everyone has a place to belong.
“Inclusion is about making sure no one feels left out.”
The leader
Three words Adeline uses to describe herself as a leader
- ResponsibleFollows through on what she says she’ll do.
- RespectfulTreats every classmate like they matter.
- ResilientKeeps going when things get hard.
